Table Names:
We have five tables in our classroom. I have two different choices for table names. You can either do shape names to help the students learn the different shape names and shape attributes, or you can do numbers and have the students record what they know about the numbers, any math connections, on the paper. Pick one, tape it to their tables, and tape it to the board for tally marks!

While You Were Out:
What do you do with work for students who have been absent? I have designated folders, and this sign is placed in the front of the folder. As work is passed out, it is placed in the absent student's folder. The folder and the work is ready for the child when they return to school.

Pictures and Presents from Students:
What to do with all of the papers, pictures, and presents from students? I do not know about you, but I definitely do not have enough wall and desk space for everything! So, I created a special tub for my special treasures from my sweet little first graders! Anything they make me gets placed in the plastic tub. The students think of it as a treasure chest full of their special things!

Breakfast Choice:
Since we eat in our classroom, the students make their breakfast choice on the back of the metal art cabinet. I place a picture of the breakfast choice each day, and the students move their person to yes or keep their person on no. Two breakfast helpers go pick up our breakfast in the cafeteria and pass it out to the friends who ordered it.

Missing Parts Bucket:
We all know that throughout the day students find things around our classrooms and then feel the need to show us! We have a missing parts bucket. Anytime the students find something and do not know where it goes, they place it in the bucket. At the end of the week, I will put away anything that is in the bucket.

Where Are We?
Whenever we leave our classroom to go somewhere else in the building, a student moves the clip to where we are. Example: When we go to the media center, the clip is moved to media center. When we come back to our class, the clip is moved back to here. The chart hangs outside our door to help others easily find us. These where are we charts are a school-wide thing. Every teacher has one outside his or her room.
